Todd Caldwell took over the helm of Emblem in 2013, after almost ten years as a Chief Designer. Leading a talented team of floral designers, Todd specializes in creating lush, classic arrangements – often with a botanical twist – for both large scale events and intimate home settings.
Todd’s early life was spent on remote research stations and at universities where his father, a wildlife biologist, instilled within him a deep love and understanding of botany and the natural world at an early age. His affinity for the outdoors continues to be fueled by foraging and hiking whenever possible.
Todd began his working life in greenhouses, later operating his own gardening company in Dublin, Ireland where he worked alongside and learned from an esteemed architect and world renowned plants woman. He brought his knowledge to Toronto in 1998, entering into floral design while also maintaining a garden business on the side until taking over Emblem. Todd carries his love of flowers with him wherever he goes and uses it to find continual inspiration in every new location.
Located in a beautifully-finished industrial space in Toronto’s Davenport neighbourhood on Geary Avenue, the Emblem studio is always filled with beautiful colours, textures and scents.
